As the Principal Technologist/Evangelist, Luke is tasked with ensuring that new products are continually being created and that the Zettagrid message is being broadcast far and wide.The need to continually stay abreast of technology shifts and new trends means that Luke is always learning, growing and adding new tools to his repertoire.Research and development is crucial in this role and Luke is always checking out new software and hardware looking for that next big thing whilst thinking about products differently such that as a group we may alter the product or add additional layers of differentiation that will increase adoption of Zettagrid whilst filling a gap in the market that others aren’t able to and giving customers what they want/need.Presenting is a key component of this role and Luke presents weekly to audiences ranging from 2-300+ customers all across the country over all forms of media. These presentations are crucial in the effort to get customer awareness of who Zettagrid are and detailed explanations/demonstrations of the products on offer and how they may be of best use to potential customers.

As the PreSales Manager, Luke runs the PreSales efforts across all of Australia with Solutions Architects in both Perth and Sydney under his tutelage. Luke has found that managing team members across the country is both challenging and highly rewarding and it has forced him to grow and mature as a manager allowing him to continually learn and adapt.Presenting is a key component of this role and Luke presents weekly to audiences ranging from 2-300+ customers all across the country over all forms of media. These presentations are crucial in the effort to get customer awareness of who Zettagrid are and detailed explanations/demonstrations of the products on offer and how they may be of best use to potential customers.Luke’s role sees him designing complex solutions for customers, often utilising many of the modular building blocks that Zettagrid offer. Often needing to write proposals for clients or government tenders, Luke draws from his many years as an architect and his ability to accurately and eloquently put pen to paper to create a highly professional document and sleek design for the client.The experience learnt from his time doing a vast number of duties across a great many sections in IT and his agnostic industry wide certifications has meant that the solutions and designs he creates and implements have benefit of his experience in;- Writing and developing code- Dealing with difficult customers- Application packaging and Operating System deployment- Management and deployment of the full Microsoft suite- Storage administration of many different platforms- Virtualisation administration - Technical and Solutions Architectural duties for many enterprise customers

Heading up the Architecture Team has meant that Luke has needed to stay abreast of all the newest technological advancements to ensure that the most appropriate ones are implemented into Zettagrid and that lessons learnt from previous technology and/or companies are used as examples of what to implement or steer clear of.In this role Luke is a driving force for the design and implementation of new systems/architecture within the company. The requirement for the team to be flexible and agile has meant that the focus for the team is in the development of new productised offerings and ensuring that the existing architecture continues to improve and be as robust and resilient as possible.The creation of a new completely modular storage offering to clients and manipulation of IOPS per customer VM was born out of an in-depth and highly technical storage project ran by Luke. Measuring every current vendor (both commodity and enterprise grade) against the current and future functions Zettagrid needed ensured that the best fit solution was determined and implemented in all of the Zettagrid zones across Australia.In an effort to remain an agile cloud company and continuing to be the quickest to market means Luke is always looking at new technology and determining how they can be developed internally into productised offerings to Zettagrid customers. This team is highly successful due to the small nature of the group and its ability to be agile through the members of the Operations, Management and Development teams.
