Passion and versatility. My name is Luke Coppen, I am a 1st year Student here at the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University- Bloomington. I am currently pursuing a Finance Major with a Psychology Minor. I am a newly initiated member of the Theta Chi Fraternity and look to make a difference as a part of this organization by building community and tradition on my campus. My experience as a captain of three sports-– basketball, baseball, and golf– in high school, and a High School Squash National Champion, helped me develop essential skills in teamwork, leadership, and determination. After living all my life in a small Connecticut town, I chose the Kelley School of Business to not only receive a top ranked education, but also to expand my horizons and opportunities in a completely new part of the country. I am passionate about creative thinking, and collaboration and hope to continue to develop professionally with my peers to develop mutually beneficial partnerships. I am strongly grounded by my competitive nature which I utilize to push myself in my studies and to set myself up for a future in business. Attention to detail and inclusivity are two more important traits that I will bring to future employers which allows me to foster a safe and empowering environment around me. I thrive in situations that involve thoughtful decision making and commitment to meet and expand upon my aspirations can compliment organizations looking for an intrinsically motivated employee. My short-term goals while in college are to develop a better understanding of the business sector that I am passionate about, which will bring out my competitive and attentive habits. This will push me towards my long-term goals of becoming a financial consultant and eventually owning my own firm, brining me satisfaction through helping others achieve their financial goals.
