This includes overseeing mechanical, electrical, and software projects as well as coordinating business development, growth strategies, and product line management with Leadership in the US and Germany.

I manage teams of 5-10 students in the ME department’s Senior Design program. I guide students throughout the product development process, conduct weekly review meetings, review and edit deliverables, assign grades, and hold performance reviews and coaching sessions with individual students.

I oversee the R&D equipment division including system design and custom products at BDC. This ranges from medical device test stations, to fixtures and protocols, to software design and validation. I also oversee the company's Social Committee and run the EcoPass benefit program for employees.

As head of the Design department, I interact closely with clients around the world to fulfill their vision of climbing walls and athletic facilities. I lead the team of designers to manage custom projects, support the existing product line, and launch new climbing products and equipment.

At Eldorado I deliver custom climbing wall designs to universities, rec centers, climbing gyms, and private clients. I support the structural analysis, manufacture, and assembly of installations ranging from 12' to 80', including the largest outdoor climbing facility in the US. I also work with the Director of Design to value engineer current offerings and expand the product line in coordination with company roadmap and market trends.

Greater Denver Area

At Sunrise Medical I design advanced seating systems for manual and powered wheelchairs, as well as oversee improvement and cost-reduction projects for support structures including backs, cushions, brackets, hinges, etc. This involves planning from design through launch, testing new or improved prototypes, and providing engineering support for marketing, regulatory, and product management. I occasionally visit international manufacturing facilities to troubleshoot equipment and workflow issues, as well as attend conferences with medical professionals to gauge priorities and needs for future projects. I use SolidWorks daily to create models and drawings for parts and assemblies, using PDM to process changes.

I began my internship with the Research & Technology group, verifying material and design concepts through rapid prototyping, testing, and analysis. I researched new materials, vendors, and manufacturing processes to improve the cost and reliability of future products. My internship was extended to a position with the R&D group to create new models and drawings for components, assemblies, and fixtures using SolidWorks and Creo (Pro E). Implementing best drafting practices (tolerance analysis, GD&T, BOMs, etc.), I model and assemble PCBs, flex circuitry, wires, lights, buttons, switches, microphones, stages, fixtures, and injection-molded cases, as well as author and review ECOs using PLM/PDM tracking. I deliver my product proposals, prototypes, and test results straight to the Director and product engineering group, as well as guide machining and testing personnel to develop improved tools and processes.

I refined and delivered customer design data to production through CATIA, DraftSight, and PDM. I monitored and supported new production throughout planning, R&D, manufacturing, QA, FAI, and MRB. I also trained technicians and inspectors on new equipment and processes to conform to best practices, workflows, and documentation. I identified process, equipment, and personnel adjustments to improve time, cost, and spec adherence of our production.

Using input from both internal and external customers, I created custom SolidWorks designs for injection molded parts and electrical assemblies. I supported products through the entire development cycle, including overtime and assembling parts by hand in order to meet deadlines and deliver prototypes to the customer. I investigated and solved quality and production issues through not only research but also hands-on collaboration with technicians. I spent a portion of my time verify product performance through prototyping, inspection, and automated cyclical testing.
