Working on the next generation television standard ATSC 3.0. Chairman of the Physical Layer specialist group and Vice-chair of the entire Technology Group on ATSC 3.0 (TG3) along with the specialist group on interactive environments. Also involved with the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) and its committee on ATSC 3.0 receivers which generates bulletins on best practices for ATSC 3.0 receivers. In addition to television standards, I am also involved with IoT and AI committees in INCITS as they work in developing / supporting international standards in those areas. Sensor networks have a variety of applications and cameras can be placed into many of them.

Software Systems Engineering of ATSC signals (DTV, Mobile DTV, new ideas). Develop software code for modeling new algorithms of digital demodulation. Work closely with the ATSC standards to test new ideas and algorithms. Close ties with Japan design teams to find winning solutions for Sony. Represent Sony body at ATSC forums to put forth Sony proposals.

Currently working as an ASIC Design Engineer on digital demodulators of a variety of products. Focus is in time synchronization, gain control and digital phase / frequency lock feedback loops. Work with a variety of tools in the design flow of systems architecture to RTL code. (Matlab, C++, Verilog for example)Also learning Japanese language to interface with local teams.

Worked as a Field Applications Engineer for GPS products. Helped existing and new customers with product implementation. Closely worked with marketing in visiting customers (new and sustaining) to have effective implementation of our solution into their product.

Started semiconductor design engineering with cable modem receivers (QAM) technology. Worked on various projects which included digital terrestrial TV digital VSB / QAM demodulators, COFDM demodulators and Video Graphics decoders. Used design flows starting from system architecture to block functional analysis to RTL code to Synopsys gate creation and back end SDA timing analysis.
