It was my responsibility to drive a 12 pallet truck to go pick up donated food, transfer donated food, organize/sort the food, organize warehouse supplies, stage the supplies to be loaded, loading the 12 pallet trucks for the distribution events, cleaning all the trucks, cleaning the warehouse, work all manual/electric pallet jacks, work the fork lift, work the distribution events, and truck maintenance.

I was the volunteer student pastor for a little over 2 years and this time for me was a very growing and a good learning experience. Every week I put together slides, created games, created a pre-game plan for my volunteers, created new events, tried to create midweek connections, do pastoral care, and create a sermon. On the day service of I would set up and tear down the whole ministry, and put on the whole service for the students. I also trained volunteers and helped the church with additional things that they needed, not pertaining to youth ministry. Other responsibilities included on-boarding volunteers, organizing files for the ministry, creating new tools for service, helping with student band practice, going to/leading meetings and trying to contribute to the church as a whole.

The requirements for this job was for the workers to be able to work the register, memorize and make all the drinks, prep and make all the food, cook the food, clean everything behind the bar, clean all equipment, clean certain parts of the shop, restock all items, and give great customer service. This job was very similar to Common Grounds, but also taught me different skills in terms of customer relations because of the different customer dynamic and taught me even more in depth skills about coffee as well.

This taught me the great value and skill of customer service. This job has helped me to learn how to multitask as well as appreciate all the customer service that I have received. It taught me how to work with others effectively, pour into co-workers, love on customers however I could, and gave me practical labor skills as well.

I served in Children’s Ministry for 5 years as a volunteer. I started out in pre-k and worked my way up to 5th grade. This was a fantastic experience because I got to teach kids about God’s love for them and either bring them closer to Christ or lead them to Christ. This required me to be able to teach children, care for them in various ways, lead discussion, handle problem children, handle potential traumatic events, and helped me to learn how to develop people.
