A self motivated programmer and physicist with a breadth of experience from scientific research and large-scale personal projects. I have considerable experience in software development for high speed data acquisition and quantum engineering (nanotechnology, clean room processes, cryostat design and construction). My interests span low temperature physics, quantum information science and game design.I am skilled in both free-space and cryogenic electro-optical setups and have proficiency in python and C# which I have used for the automation of complex data acquisition and analysis. My recent work involved nanosecond resolution software development with git version control using the M-Labs Artiq environment for experiments in neutral atom trapping. In my spare time I develop games using C# in Unity and build and maintain a Flask based heroku web applet.
Listed skills include Python, Quantum Mechanics, Physics, Snowboarding, and 11 others.

The focus of this work is bound by a NDA and not all specifics can be shared. My work involved designing and building an optical component characterisation setup. I extended Microsoft's in-house experiment controller to work with additional high timing resolution and single photon detector components.
Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom
Working with M-Lab’s high-level Artiq programming language, I developed firmware and software along with a user friendly interface package for controlling Rydberg atom neutral atom trapping experiments. This GUI is capable of controlling components with nanosecond resolution and sub-microsecond latency by executing commands directly onto dedicated FPGA hardware. Our experimental setup is designed to trap reconfigurable 2D arrays of neutral Cs atoms in a 3D MOT, which are excited to the Rydberg state for the purpose of simulating quantum algorithms.
Finland
Development and maintenance of a free-space optical characterisation setup capable of low-temperature laser pumping, nanometer resolution spectrum analysis, single photon coincidence measurements. The setup required programming automated scanning response maps, data collection and analysis. Role additionally involved working and communicating with multiple teams to fabricate and characterise thin films devices. This research was focused on the continued development of thin film hBN and WS2 single photon sources, with the goal of achieving deterministic, scalable and high efficiency devices to advance the field of quantum information science.
Glasgow
Assembled and maintained a new cryogenic testing rig capable of carrying out single photon response mapping at 0.35 K; fabricated and tested novel MoSi nanowire devices; characterised amorphous MoSi superconducting nanowires and contributed to several publications. This research focused on the development of superconducting nanowire single photon detectors (SNSPDs), an enabling technology for optical quantum information science. These devices offered infrared single photon sensitivity with high efficiency, low dark counts and excellent timing resolution.
