Selected to teach history, global affairs, physical education, and English to high school students in Spain while pursuing a related service project for one year. The goal of this scholarship is to advance diplomatic relationships between Spain and the United States. Scholars must also complete a service project. I focused on combatting homelessness in Madrid by volunteering with local nonprofits and addressing the root causes of the housing crisis in Spain's capital city.

Assisted in spearheading the anti-racism taskforce to make Netter anti-racist across all 22 public schools it serves. This entailed leading the safe-spaces subcommittee to encourage critical discussion and strengthen educational relationships between the Penn and West Philadelphia communities. As a co-leader of this committee, I planned the Netter Center's first annual community block party. Here, Penn and Philadelphia community members of all ages were able to experience community together.

Selected by the Netter Center's leadership, I, along with a group of other interns, was able to continue my research and its implementation past the end of my summer internship. Under this internship, I co-founded the Netter Center's Professional Development Associates Team. This team focused on rooting out biases in the Penn Community to better work alongside Philadelphia. As a founding member focused on language and linguistics, I gave many trainings on topics ranging from identity and privilege to linguistic chauvinism and trauma-informed education.

Also, I contributed to midterm elections reporting during the 2022 primaries at NBC by assembling and organizing data from counties across the US. Principally, this involved helping build a dataset with the official contact information of county clerks across the countries.

As a fellow, I conceptualized a platform scrutinizing public institutions in urban spaces using mixed methods research. In doing so, I formed more than 20 qualitative reports on boundary structures and border relations between countries and analyzed more than 100 border crossings between nations around the world using Microsoft Excel and Google Earth. Additionally, I searched through databases of torture allegations to code human rights violations carried out by 7 countries

I Interviewed Spanish speakers to gather information about experiences with government food assistance programs. Translated materials into Spanish to provide the Hispanic community with accurate information about food assistance. I also lobbied 5 federal congressional staffers for bills which would increase access to food and reduce hunger. By analyzing large quantitative datasets, I was able to develop numerous 1-pagers and policy briefs in English and Spanish to educate advocates, clients, government officials, and other agencies.

I served upwards of 200 customers every shift to retain a wide range of clientele. I also worked at Starbucks throughout college and during the COVID-19 pandemic to maintain store cleanliness and satisfaction.

I conducted 5 mile beach patrols for 7 hours per shift to maintain beach safety regulations and cleanliness. As a result, alongside a partner, I collected 24,000 pounds of garbage from Brevard County beaches during the summer tourist season.
