About Luke Simmons

(Source: Melbourne City of Literature)Luke Simmons is a Melbourne-based digital technologist who was extremely pleased to be involved with the City of Literature and the "Sleipnir Travels" project (www.sleipnirtravels.com). Having taken a similar path to Sleipnir, Luke has travelled extensively having previously lived in London and Porto Alegre (Brazil) where he worked for Encyclopaedia Britannica in their online division. In 2009, he returned home to live in Melbourne to marry his "Porto Alegrense" wife and he built a blogging website called bytestories.com which is dedicated to sharing short, "byte-sized" stories based on personal experiences. It was at this stage, he also became exposed to the growing world of mobile technology and worked with with a number of tech companies who help companies in the trucking, fire protection and trades sectors modernise their operations by replacing paperwork with smartphones. In 2017, he's working on some exciting projects with Sentry and Fleet Effect. Outside of work hours, Luke enjoys his time with his wife, his 2 year old and Gypsy - his cheeky Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
