About Luke S.
Hello! Thanks for viewing my profile. Feel free to contact me with any questions. I'm an electro-mechanical engineer for Ingenium Aerospace in Rockford, IL where we design and build custom electromechanical actuators for a wide variety of military and aerospace applications. And, yes, its as cool as it sounds. As a small company, I get to wear a lot of hats which caters to my passion of being involved in many different aspects: from proposals to the initial CAD models, prototyping, analysis, testing, and all the way to ramping up production. My role in business development has increased significantly as I thoroughly enjoy understanding complete system applications to help customers with design selection. Previously, I was a mechanical and operations engineer for Woodward, Inc for 4 years. During my time there, I learned a great deal about the aerospace development process which is far more strict and structured than most other engineering industries; experience which contributes immensely to my current position. I worked closely with GE Aviation teams to manage new technology projects for both companies. Additionally, I was fortunate to play a key role in helping develop Woodward's first space production line for solenoid thrusters. Outside of Woodward, I have been lucky to experience a plethora of jobs which provide intangibles that help me excel in my engineering career. The more challenging the project, the more I enjoy my work as I am passionate about solving difficult problems with the right solutions.Outside of work, I keep busy by collecting hobbies. In the summer months, I enjoy wood working, improving my backyard pool and bonfire area, hiking and camping, gardening, and pretty much anything outside with my dogs. In the colder months, I try to focus more on personal development such as taking refresher engineering classes, learning an instrument or language, or just working longer hours. Regards,Luke
