Involved in the development of Risk Based Management System in compliance to the API580. Responsible for the management of corrosion issues, development and review of inspection strategies for the Crude Distillation Unit, Hydroprocessing Units, Solvents Unit, Propane Deasphalting Unit, High Vacuum Unit, Lube Oil and Utilities. Conduct root cause analysis and compile failure investigation reports with recommendations on pressure equipment and piping. Set Integrity Operating Windows to ensure that the units operate with the stipulated limits for a longer lifespan and increased availability to for efficient production runs.

Responsible for maintaining sound integrity of pressure vessel equipment and piping by implementing inspection strategies timeously as per Pressure Equipment Regulation guidelines, API510 and API570 in compliance with internationally recognized health and safety standards.

In charge of maintaining the rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, turbines,etc), and pressure equipment by following best engineering practices. Ensures that proper design and management of change is followed with the introduction of new equipment in the plant. Management of a multidisciplinary team ranging from mechanical, electrical, civil and instrumentation engineering departments for safeguarding of the assets by maintaining fully functional equipment systems. Managing contractors to deliver on key projects and planned maintenance work activities as per agreed schedule timelines in order to meet business objective.

· Ensure that the RBI processes are carried out in accordance with API580, API571, API570, API510 and other health and safety standards.· Technical signatory for the RBI Top Documents· Escalate RBI assessment outcomes to management· Review the technical work of RBI team members to ensure correctness· Follow up to assure that the appropriate risk mitigation actions have been implemented· Contact person with the South African Regulatory Authority (Department of Labour – DoL) on equipment and piping integrity issues governed by the RBI management process· Escalate RBIMS non-compliances to the Regulatory Authority (Department of Labour - DoL) if no action is taken to mitigate· Conduct RBI training to relevant personnel· Audit the RBI process for legal and technical compliance· Ensure that the RBI management systems objectives are met· Appoint RBI Assessment session facilitators and team members (process engineers, equipment and piping inspectors, mechanical design engineers, materials and corrosion engineers).· Responsible for the technical support and mentoring of the RBI team as the direct manager and appointed supervisor· Piping and equipment scope development and approval for the refinery turnarounds based on the lifecycle of the assets
