Welcome! I’m Lu, and I'm an Architectural Engineering student at the Durham School of Architectural Engineering & Construction. Here’s a little glimpse into the way I think: "Industry Educator in the Making" While I don’t see myself in a traditional K-12 classroom, I am an educator at heart! From facilitating one-on-one trainings to my background of teaching groups of 30+ students choreography, I have loved it all! As our landscape, knowledge of the built environment, and human understanding continue to change, I aspire to be a catalyst for growth and facilitate learning within the industry. "Passionate about the Intersection of Art and Science" I always tell people that I like to think about science from a creative perspective, and art from an analytical perspective. My absolute favorite place, however, is where art and science meet. My knowledge in artistic fields gives me an eye for the little innovations that make a big impact on lived experiences. My education in math and science allows me to create in a way that is structured, maintainable, and clever. "Advocate for Sustainable, Human-centered Design" Creating buildings that benefit our environment is a moral and career responsibility. I see sustainability as the baseline, and I'm excited about the abundance of ways we can give back to the world through design. Additionally, as we automate aspects of our work with machine learning, we get to take those opportunities to dive deeper into the human condition and the influence we can have on the communities we are part of.Lastly, here are some topics I am dying to learn more about: R&D, grant writing, biophilic design, facades, and the overlap of lighting & psychology.Thanks for stopping by my page.
