The Country Programs include supports to (i) Health Services of the Government of Afghanistan at all levels which include but not limited to training, medicines supply, advocacy, counselling, construction and maintenance of health facilities etc. (ii) Disaster preparedness and post-disaster supports, (iii) providing basic provisions and training supports to refugees/returnees/IDPs. IMC currently (1996) works in 11 out of 33 Provinces of Afghanistan and directly benefits around 1.5 million population with 5 International staff-person about 700 national staff-persons. Ten Donors support the Programs.

Director of Development, ADA University Foundation & Adjunct Teacher Jan 2015–Jun 2016 Advisor, Corporate & Alumni Relations, ADA University Foundation May 2012-Jun 2013Director, HR & Organizational Development, ADA University Feb 2010-Apr 2012--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As Director of Development, I supervised all aspects of ADA University Foundation’s fund-raising, membership, sponsorship, endowment and Alumni relations initiatives. During this period, as Adjunct Teacher, I also taught Business Policy & Communication, Strategic Planning and HR Development to the Undergrad students at ADA University and to the MBA students at Azerbaijan University (AU). As Advisor, ADAU Foundation, I developed the Foundation’s short & long-term strategy. Built its active relationship with the corporate community and Alumni, and mobilized resources from these sectors. Promoted ADA University’s various programs such as Executive Education, Career Management and EMBA. As Director, HR & OD, I developed HR Policy and supervised all aspects of HR Management & Organizational Development and remained responsible for the overall performance of the department.

CETaM covered 5 areas of talent management - Languages, IT, Soft skills, Vocational Training and Overseas Education Support. During this assignment, CETaM was outsourced by Rapid Solutions Ltd (RSL) – one of the largest oil services agencies in Azerbaijan, to develop their HR & Administrative Policies & Procedures Manual. Upon successful completion of RSL assignment, CETaM was outsourced by the Presidential Council on State Support to NGO (CSSN) to help build their long-term strategy, institutional capacity and international relations. I successfully undertook this assignment and upon completion became its Honorary Advisor until June 2016.

Taught Development Management on behalf of an Austrian University (IMC/Krems). Advised the Rector on HICD (Human & Institutional Capacity Development) issues. Undertook several Civil Society development related consultancy assignments with UNDP and BP Funded projects.

For 9 months I was the HAO of UNOCHA and in this position, I coordinated the humanitarian assistance programs of the UN Systems, INGOs, NNGOs and the Government of Azerbaijan. Raised substantial amount of fund to address the problems of the flood victims in rural Azerbaijan during mid-1997. Rest of the time, I was the CTA for UNDP to help build the capcity of the civil society of Azerbaijan and the Landmine Agencies of Azerbaijan, Mozambique and Tajikistan.

Implemented a massive Umbrella Grant program of the US Government. Developed Data Collection and Analysis system for the benefit of all the agencies who were implementing relief and development programs in Azerbaijan, taught civil society development in several universities in Azerbaijan.

In Philippines (Jul-Aug 1992), it was a consultancy assignment for PLAN-International’s Regional Office in Manila. In Indonesia, supervised the integrated rual development activities of PLAN-Indonesia.

Associate Director, Pakistan and Management Consultant, Nepal Dec 1988 – Apr 1991 Designed and implemented a long-term integrated rural development project in the semi-arid zone of Pakistan. Upon deputation, reviewed the overall management systems of SCF-Nepal and made recommendation for improvement. Country Director, Mali Jun 1987 – Nov 1988 Administered an integrated socioeconomic development program and a disaster early warning preparedness project in collaboration with IUCN and OXFAM. The Country Program consisted of 2 offices with 5 expatriate staff.

Project Coordinator, Mali Feb 1985 – May 1987 Developed and implemented an USAID funded (US$5 million) Food for Work and emergency food distribution projects in Timbuktu region. Supervised 7 expatriates, 100 national staff & a fleet of 45 vehicles. Annual budget was US$ 4,000,000. Also, coordinated USG/EU funded cluster agro-programs in the Segou Region. Trained NGOs/CBOs. Supervised 3 expatriates, 95 national staff and an annual budget of US$ 450,000. Administrative Manager, Bangladesh Nov 1984 – Jan 1985 Supervised the administrative functions of CARE's main office and 19 regional offices. Trained 40 national staff. HR/Administrative Manager, Somalia Feb 1982 – Oct 1984 Directed the Logistics & Administrative section of CARE'S north-western Somalia projects for 250,000 refugees. Supervised 6 expatriates, 150 national staff and maintenance of 160 vehicles. Field Officer/Unit Administrator/Coordinator, Bangladesh Apr 1978 – Jan 1982 Coordinated the USAID funded Deep Tube-well Irrigation and Credit Program (DTICP). Assisted, in various capacities, in the implementation of USAID funded 500 Food for Work projects.
