It became part of the Pacific Media Workers Guild local union as a result of a merger.During my tenure, I:• Led settlements of landmark collective bargaining agreements featuring enhanced benefits for women and domestic partners. • Successfully directed large-scale union organizing campaign in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. • Recruited, trained and inspired several generations of union and community leaders.• Co-facilitated 2006 employee ownership effort at 12 former Knight Ridder newspapers. • Proposed and participated in strategic research partnership with University of California – Davis professor Chris Benner to identify innovative union and employer responses to ongoing challenges in the newspaper industry.
