The subject of the semi-scientific research was to re-evaluate their (terminated) program BiotechPartners; a platform in which biotechnological start-ups are matched with incumbent companies and investors in the same area of expertise. However, due to the significant 'valley of death' in this sector, both the program and the start-ups unfortunately failed to continue. My research pinpointed the exact causes and exposed the underlying sore points, which led me to provide a solid recommendation to re-initiate the program.Thesis: 'Market validation for BiotechPartners 2.0 - A biotechnological accelerator program initiated by KplusV'. -

Polymer ResearchAv Chemistry B.V. Mar 2018 - Sep 2018The scope of the project was to develop a protocol to synthesize simple monofunctionalized polyethylene glycol (PEG) samples with ethylene oxide through a tailor-made set-up. The second objective of the project was to use these PEG samples, together with polylactic acid (PLA) to synthesize block copolymers (PEG-PDLLA) via flow chemistry. Although the first objective failed, the flow synthesis of the block copolymers yielded promising results, underscoring the importance and effectiveness of control in (polymerization) reactions.Thesis: 'Synthesis of PEG derivatives and flow synthesis of block copolymers'. -
