About Luís Afonso

Since I was very young, I've had a huge passion for marine sciences. In 2017, I started the undergraduate degree in Aquatic Sciences at the Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Porto, where I had a lot of opportunities to gain experience for both my personal and professional development. I am a Master in Applied Marine Biology from the University of Aveiro and I currently collaborate with the Cetus Project at the Interdisciplinary Centre of Marine and Environmental Research of the University of Porto (CIIMAR). I am also starting my PhD at CIIMAR and ICBAS, working with the application of environmental DNA for cetacean conservation.
