Selected by the city executive team and council members for newly created leadership role to oversee the design and construction of CIPs across economic development, facilities, public works, and parks and recreation departments. Coordinated pre-bid meetings, evaluated bids, attended bid openings, and made recommendations for contract award. Interacted with stakeholders and consultants on design and construction plans and oversaw multiple subcontractors on projects. Conducted independent inspections and reviews, and managed dispute resolution. Highlighted projects include:➡ Demolition and asbestos abatement of the Sugar Land Central Unit Prison. ➡ Design and development of a new maintenance facility at the Sugar Land Airport.➡ Design and development of a joint use police and fire training campus to include an interim gun range, access roads, fire department training prop, a simunition shoot house for police and an apparatus training building for the fire department.

Sugar Land, Texas Area

Served as owner’s representative and project manager for the $84M Smart Financial Centre complex, the first state-of-the art indoor performance venue comprised of 200,000 sf of space with movable walls that contract to fit 3,000 seats or expand to fit 6,500 seats, complex orchestra staging, parking for 2,500 cars, a 3-acre plaza for outdoor events and a 90ft advertising marquee located on Highway 59. Developed project summary, lessons learned, detailed quarterly and monthly reports, effectively communicated with owners, architects and stakeholders, and tracked project milestones and deliverables.➡ Brought project in on-time and within budget and won accolades from stakeholders and city council members.➡ Appointed to Manager, Commercial Construction in 2016, a newly created position by the city council to work across various departments of the city on CIP projects.
