I was responsible for the full operations function of the headquarters in South Africa. I managed different departments, including accounting and finance, branding and marketing, manufacturing, local and international sales, and human resources.

We went through major changes, and I was tasked to manage various aspects of that change, including…☛Moving to an online sales model, and from B2B to B2C. This included the set-up of the online stores and payment methods in SA, UK, Europe, and the US.☛ Opening a subsidiary in the United Kingdom.☛ Setting up new structures and procedures.☛ Training and guiding our growing team. The team tripled within 6 months, and all needed to be trained in their new roles.Other duties included:● I had to set up relationships with new shipping providers, and helped the team to navigate customs into new territories, including Canada, Israel and South Korea.● I implemented and streamlined internal processes, which in turn improved productivity and communications between departments.● I improved the budgeting and forecasting methods and designed and formalised new monthly reports to shareholders. These helped us to recognise risks and issues earlier and react to them faster. ● I identified problems with the product costing method and corrected prices to boost profits.● I had to familiarise myself with international requirements for the new UK subsidiary and other countries we operated in, e.g US. These included taxation, import & export, labour, reserve bank regulations (for cross-border transactions), and company laws and regulations.● I implemented a new stock management system to improve accuracy of quantities, and communications with manufacturers in the US and UK.
