I worked here for just under 3 months as an intern helping to promote the work of the Archive and develop the range of their audience. As part of my project there, I was searching through material held at the repository and looking for particular 'gems' that I felt were especially interesting. These could then be used as part of the Archive's campaign to increase awareness of their presence in a wider and more diverse audience. This project also highlighted to potential donors or funding body's that the Archive was actively engaging with a new audience, those outside of the typical mill enthusiast group. In the long run, we aimed for this to improve relations with these groups and individuals, while building upon the Archive's appeal as a recipient for funding or grants. On top of this, I wrote regular blog posts and contributed pieces for the tri-annual newsletter, building upon my ability to write in a persuasive and personable manner.
