Mechanical EngineerI work in the Asset Management Division at LVVWD in the areas of pressure transient analysis (water hammer) and mitigation, Trihalomethane (THM) Reduction, Spray Aeration Systems, Pump System Performance, and Efficiency Analysis, Control Valve Sizing, Flow Meter Sizing, Hydraulic System Network Analysis, and related fields.I am a Registered Professional Control Systems Engineer, Senior Life Member of International Society of Automation (ISA), and have served on a number of ISA standards committees, primarily in the area of control valve application and sizing. I've served on over 50 ANSI/Hydraulic Institute Technical Standards review committees, where I assist in the technical review of new and revised ANSI and Hydraulic Institute standards.I've taught courses on control valve sizing, spray aeration and Trihalomethane reduction methods. Proficient in computer programming utilizing C++, C#, VBA, Delphi, and SCADA access and have developed numerous programs for hydraulic analysis, pump performance and efficiency, pressure drop in pipe, THM mitigation, growth modeling, and energy consumption.
