CurrentLead all operational functions and serve as the public face and primary brand representative for The Food Bank, the third person to serve in this role since the organization’s founding in 1981. The Food Bank serves an average of 100,000 Missourians monthly in 32 counties, with a service area covering approximately one-third of the state, providing food at no cost to 140+ partner agencies and 200 schools. The Food Bank annually acquires and distributes ~30 million pounds of food, with a wholesale value of more than $50 million. Collaboration and partnership help expand The Food Bank’s reach outside of the defined service area through The Feeding Missouri network of six food banks and The Feeding America network of 200 food banks nationwide.Provide oversight for a team of 73 full-time employees and a volunteer work force of approximately 12,000 individuals annually. Staff the 25-member board of directors, as well as four board committees. Annually lead development and measurement of organizational goals and oversee balanced budget of nearly $10 million. Instituted a new strategic plan, which included the establishment of the first vision statement and core values for the organization. Led the creation of a fundraising team and stewardship plan that has resulted in significant growth in revenue and the donor base as well as the establishment of a reserve fund and endowment. Launched an organization-wide commitment to acquisition and distribution of more nutritious foods. Initiated a team-focused, employee-centric culture with emphasis on equity and professional growth.Successfully led a $7 million capital campaign to purchase and renovate a new home for The Food Bank’s Central Pantry and rebranded the space as The Food Bank Market in 2023. The Food Bank Market is a transformative and innovative model that aims to serve the whole person by offering, in addition to nutritious food, access to wrap-around services, nutrition education and on-site medical care.
