About Lynda Rose
“Do not be too timid and squeamish about your actions. All life is an experiment…What if you do fail; and get fairly rolled in the dirt once or twice? Up again; you shall never be so afraid of a tumble.” - Ralph Waldo EmersonThis quote characterizes me perfectly. I love what I do: Help busy executives be successful in their jobs. Executive assistants have to be willing to step it up and not be timid. I’ve always had a willingness to work hard and learn. But the best reward is leaving work on any given day knowing that I’ve somehow helped make the organization better for the people who work there. As a proactive critical thinker, I keep an eye out for upcoming trends, issues, and changes to help organize workflow. I also enjoy creating systems that enhance efficiencies in a professional office; I do this by using organizational acumen and scheduling precision to keep staff on track to meeting target objectives.Senior managers whom I support benefit from my background as a personable, polished, and professional assistant who acts as a staff liaison and front-line responder to stakeholders. Throughout my career, I have strived to create collaborative and supportive environments.Additionally, I have earned a reputation as an articulate communicator who promotes clear, transparent, and regular updates on projects or topics to keep everyone on the same page.If your company would benefit from an Executive Assistant who embodies all of these attributes, as well as embodies integrity / confidentiality, as well as a diplomatic approach in finding ways to address needs while still protecting key information, then let’s talk!

Executive Assistant To The Mayor
Working as Executive Assistant to the Mayor is a challenging role, but one that I was well prepared for, and thoroughly enjoy. Months after joining the team in the Mayor/City Manager's Office, a new Mayor was voted into office, so in my relatively short time here, I've served two Mayors. That means learning and quickly relearning people, preferences, and systems to best accommodate the elected officials as individuals. Daily politics are a given in this role, and I successfully navigate the often choppy waters. This is due in large part to my experience working in these environments. I enjoy the daily events that promise never to bore me.
Legal Assistant
What I enjoyed most about this position was working with clients in a fast-paced environment, being involved with interesting legal cases, and reviewing/editing complex work. One of the biggest takeaways from this job was always taking the time to do a job right the first time, no matter how busy I was. Quality control was everything! In this role, I shifted immediately into more progressively responsible roles supporting four attorneys (three partners and an associate). I communicated regularly with stakeholders, set up meetings, and coordinated logistics for senior management. Additionally, I took meeting minutes documenting discussions and key action items, formatted / edited documents, acted as representative for attorneys when they were absent, data entry, prioritized deadlines for senior managers, provided reminders about critical tasks, and collaborated with other team members to get projects completed. Top Contributions:++++++++++++++* Acted as firm’s ambassador to visitors by creating welcoming environment within work space; greeted newcomers and oriented them to conference rooms or attorney offices.* Tapped to step into new role providing administrative support to three busy partners and highest-producing associate within firm based on ability to capably and calmly manage multiple competing priorities. * Slashed file development times for new clients 50% by creating templates that shortened manual entry times allowing quick data write-overs; built strong relationships with records department to build seamless file development pipeline. * Responded to irate, emotionally-charged callers by provide “fire-break” to avoid taking up senior manager’s time; took notes, calmed callers, and synthesized information for attorneys to tighten up call back-times.
Project Coordinator
What I enjoyed most about this position was learning more about the infrastructure of a large university and what it takes to keep it operational. I also learned how to be aware of infrastructure systems and ways to keep them in good working order.During my time at this position, I worked closely with department head to draft several operational documents, coordinated with fire marshal’s office to ensure code compliance, assisted with prioritizing projects and associated needs, worked with spreadsheets to track project details, developed correspondence on behalf of department head, and provided updates to key campus personnel. Top Contributions:++++++++++++++* Assisted department senior managers with completing mission-critical planning for winter closure and completed work request forms to ensure facility was protected during period of no occupancy; also administered checklists to make sure of compliance to city codes.* Built collaborative workplace with six coworkers by taking active role in communications and fostering community problem-solving as part of team environment.* Acted as core communications point for providing campus-wide staff with information regarding winter closure plan; utilized multiple platforms (phone and email) to inform / educate colleagues of upcoming closure as well as maintained spreadsheet with status of all departmental requests for actual close dates, temperature controls. * Modified key departmental forms for use by campus officials to better coordinate requests for departmental assistance; standardized forms to create consistency in collecting complete details of requests.* Served as “front line” first point of contact for issues requiring immediate attention; tracked progress and reported outcomes to keep all stakeholders informed as to status.* Collaborated with accounting staff to ensure accurate data was entered for procurement card statements and helped increase staff efficiency by taking on task.
Senior Board Manager
My favorite aspect of this job was developing streamlined systems to enhance the board’s efficiency as a policymaking body. Through my work, I gained insights into the complexity of a large school district’s operations.During my tenure at PPS, I acted as liaison between board and public, developed long- and short-term agendas, edited meeting minutes, coordinated committee work, produced comprehensive orientation program for newly elected officials to familiarize them with requirements of board service, created and monitored departmental budget, and wrote policy for Board consideration / approval. Top Contributions:++++++++++++++* Acted as instrumental change agent for Board and its work by devising forms that streamlined work and by drafting corresponding policy for Board consideration.* Strategized public appearances of board members by working with communications department to ensure that leadership had strong community profiles; developed tracking systems to address requests and offered appropriate follow up to all parties.* Evaluated incoming correspondence to board members to provide better prioritization and correctly routed responses; tracked correspondence (via email, phone, and written) and forwarded to appropriate senior manager for research/response.* Functioned as key documentarian for all correspondence, board packet preparation, board activity, leadership meetings, and staff interactions with board.
