I am the owner and manager of Freeman's English Corner- specializing in all things English. My 20 years of teaching has taught me to prioritize student-centered instruction and emphasize the power of language. I have taught English in grades 7 through 12 in a variety of school settings: rural, urban, suburban, and individual/ group tutoring. I am currently teaching at an independent boarding school in Avon, CT. Additionally, I am experienced in preparing students for a variety of English Language Arts assessments from Verbal SAT and ACT instruction, to academic writing across subject areas. My experiences in teaching have given me the confidence to help students find their unique voice in crafting their college essays, as well as other supplemental essays for college admissions. I believe that the best part of teaching is when students can see their own growth and development, and feel pride in their accomplishments.I extend my expertise to individuals beyond the classroom by offering writing assistance in the professional world: building resumes that highlights one's unique experiences and crafting personal statements that are clear, concise and convincing.
