After 15 years in private practice, I followed my dream to research, write, and speak about my passions - cancer prevention, nutrition, and advocacy for those living with cancer.I am the author of the National Award Winning Book, "Avoiding Cancer One Day at a Time" and am completing a book for cancer survivors titled "Keeping Cancer at Bay." In addition to speaking internationally on cancer prevention, prevention of cancer recurrence, and freelance health writing, I am a medical journalist for the New York Times Company, and manage the Lung Cancer site for About.com.Having witnessed the "stigma of lung cancer," I am standing on my soapbox to remind people that 20% of women that develop lung cancer have never touched a cigarette.
