Office Of Family Safety At Family Safety Center

Worked as a liaison with law enforcement, the Sheriff’s Office, non-profit organizations, the District Attorney’s Office, Department of Human Services, Legal Aide, and other programs as needed to assist domestic violence and sexual assault victims in achieving safety and resource utilization to be free of violence. Assisted victims by promoting trust and communication with the criminal and civil court systems and partner agencies. Provided crisis intervention and advocacy services including; safety planning, needs assessments, referral services, connection to resources, lethality assessments, domestic violence education, and provide limited case-management services to clients. Assisted victims in completing the ex parte order of protection paperwork, presenting to the Court Commissioner, and understanding the court process. Translated for clients and documentation in the center. Certified Application Assistant for the Tennessee Safe at Home Address Confidentiality Program.

I was responsible for the planning and implementation of the Parents as Partners parental engagement program for Latino parents. Managed and led the Spanish speaking facilitator team in their efforts towards implementation of the program. Met with school administrators, faculty and staff at schools to set up the program. Conducted presentations to faculty about the program. Served as the organization liaison for parent involvement matters and also as the point of contact for Spanish speaking parents participating in the program. Tracked attendance and plan retention efforts to meet program goals. Assisted with organizational events and fundraisers throughout the year as well as outreach events to talk about all of the organization programs.

Assisted the Executive Director for the Office of English Learners with the planning, organizing and management of daily administrative activities.
