Multi-sector experience informs my work as a communications professional: I began my career working exclusively in the financial services sector, first in J.P. Morgan's Advisory / M&A Group, which was a great training ground. I honed my skills communications generalist there, supporting investment banking teams on client and marketing engagements across a range of industries. Then, I moved on to the wealth/investment management space, working in marcom roles supporting both traditional and alternative investments for high- and ultra-high-net worth clients. During the past decade I've worked in the public- and nonprofit sectors, including working for education, arts and social-justice organizations, while pivoting in and out of the financial services sector. Gaining multi-sector experience has given me perspective on the mix of branding, messaging/content development and audience engagement; equipped me to work across a range of organizational cultures and deepen my capacity to understand diverse perspectives. Now, I lead communications for The Opportunity Network (OppNet), a social-impact organization that promotes educational and career equity and access for students from BiPOC/historically under-represented communities. I LOVE my work. OppNet's team is strong, mighty and growing. Our programs are strong --- we have a national network of partners. The students we serve are strong, talented and smart when we meet them, and our programs cultivate their innate talents. My professional trajectory, along with my life experience, equip me with the perspective to contribute meaningfully regardless of my role, with whom or where I work. I am a 360-degree collaborator, engaged and engaging with strong EQ, an active listener who tends her relationships. I'm equally comfortable as an individual contributor or leader, and in the latter case, working as a steward who is responsible for ensuring that my team has the resources it needs to succeed. I'm adept at managing people and projects, and working as a thought partner / advisor to senior leaders.
