Led and rebuilt the Kid's Voting Wake County Program which is a private, nonpartisan, nonprofit, grassroots organization that promotes voter participation by educating America's youth about the importance of an informed electorate and the responsibilities of voting to sustain democracy.  Expanded the organization from four active board members to seventeen active enthusiastic board members while restoring funds to sustain the organization through the 2008 elections. Exceeded revenue intake in 2007 by 15%. Received the Goodman Award December 2007 for Partnership with Durham County  Lead a state effort for collaboration between county agencies for raising funds at a state level. Initiated in-school voting in order to reach kids without the opportunity of experiencing process voting with parents/guardians.

Led 14 analysts and assistants in the Consumer Services Division and synchronized activities between the other public staff divisions. Provided oversight management and coordinated formal complaint, rates and billing issues, new metering activities with major utility executives.  Successfully purchased and implemented new call center software. Managed processes to reduce the number of formal complaints presented to utilities. Improved communications within the consumers division with implemented techniques to enhance morale.

Researched, evaluated and reported customer solutions and developed quote packages in an effort to support sales objectives for customer proposals of products and services from the non-regulated CP&L services portfolio. Interfaced with regulated business units to incorporate their services into a unified customer proposal. Reengineered internal processes to streamline management of customer accounts and maximize revenues.  Developed, tested and implemented the on-line analytical software for real time pricing rate structure.

Managed customer accounting, meter reading, and regulatory issues. Supervised 12 employees. Project team members appointed by senior management, tasked with the evaluation and financial justification of the customer service organization transition from a decentralized to a centralized customer service environment.  Consistently achieved budgetary goals annually. Achieved highest ranking on the Employee Satisfaction Survey on fairness and trust. Member of project team to analyze and rewrite documentation, procedural and process changes of $3M in savings per year with the transition to a centralized customer service center. Implemented contract meter reading in Raleigh area. Management role on storm operational teams during Bertha (ice storm) and Fran (hurricane).
