The IT-Applications team at Macquarie Telecom is accountable for the design, development, and running of the core ordering systems and b2b portals that underpin the running of the entire company.The systems enable sales staff to rapidly address match customer addresses and build orders, create quotes and contracts, have those orders integrate with b2b portals such as NBN, Telstra, and AAPT in order to order services, and manage their delivery through to final order fulfilment.My role as Principal IT-Architect is to lead a team of architects and senior developers accountable for ensuring high-scale, high-availability and world class user experience.Techologies used include VueJS, Python / Django, dotnet Core, Docker /K8s, Google Maps, ElasticSearch, Kibana (ELK Stack), MySQL, RabbitMQ, Redis, Traefik.In addition to leading the architecture of enhancements to legacy systems, I led the design of a new geospatial based quoting system, and actively developed a number of key api's (python) and the whole front-end. This development included creating an address matching system which took raw user address strings and matched them against over 50 million stored address records, and scored the results, and showed the matches on an interactive google map with associated coverage boundaries tech availability meta-data.

The Engineering Information Systems manager's key accountability was to lead a team of 20 technical resources (developers, architects, dev-ops, etc) to deliver web based systems that optimised the planning of the rollout of the National Broadband Network (NBN). This required leveraging a fusion of business strategy, solutions architecture, systems architecture, and software development skills and experience.In this position I played a pivotal role in influencing and delivering the systems, standards, processes, and tools that are used to support teams across Engineering, Planning, Strategy, CIO, and Regional Deployment.A key legacy of this role is the EIS suite of applications for which I lead the scoping, development, and management of. The EIS suite is a set of geospatial, and project management systems used to plan, design, and report on the NBN network rollout.The role included growing the development team of 5 into a team of 18 which included dedicated Architecture, UX, PM, and Dev-Ops resources. The role also includes leading the design of development processes, data governance, and quality control processes.Techologies used include ReactJS, Laravel, AWS, ElasticSearch, MySQL, Oracle, PostGIS.

As the leader of this team, I lead a team of 5 developers using agile methods and worked closely with the network engineers in order to deliver several key web based geospatial and workflow systems. The role required a fusion of business strategy, systems architecture, and software development.The role included substantial hands-on PHP/JS development, as well as establishing the development team, development processes, data governance, and quality control.The success of the systems and processes delivered by this support systems team saw it eventually grow to support over 2000 users from across the business and the formation of a larger strategic focused team which I was then appointed to lead named Engineering Information Systems.

The IP networks team at Optus were tasked with managing IP design records for premium Optus business customers virtual private networks. These designs were managed for several years using spreadsheets and emails with attachments leading to mistakes and long waiting times.A project was established to implement a multi-user web based spreadsheet replacement system that put many design calculations inside the system where they could be better managed, tracked, and shared with downstream teams.My role was to lead the selection of the technology stack and front-end / back-end frameworks, document the architecture of the system, and lead the team of 4 developers assigned to deliver the system.The role specifically included hands-on PHP/JS development, aswell as working with various IT teams in order to roll the system out in including IT security and data centre teams.
