About Mark James
Mark has over a 15 years of experience in the construction industry, including design management, engineering consulting, and site experience working for a contractor. Mark has worked in 5 countries and is currently based in Zambia, from where he operates a small consultancy providing specialist BIM services to the AEC Sector. He is on the board for the newly formed Zambia chapter of Engineers Without Borders and offers private tuition in Maths and Physics in Lusaka. He is also currently studying with Moreland University to obtain his formal teaching certification which will be complete in July 2021. He previously based in the fair city of Jakarta, leading a team of engineers and designers - and prior to that he worked in NZ and the UK, gaining experience working on projects being delivered from multiple offices and countries using a variety of work-sharing technologies. Switching to first person, I have been using Revit for many years, I am an Autodesk Accredited Professional and have worked on a wide range of projects across many sectors, with a particular focus on healthcare and education. I am registered as a Chartered Engineer with the Institute of Professional Engineers New Zealand and was runner up of the Young Engineer of the Year award back when I could still be classed as “young”. Other interests include the occasional triathlon and ultra-marathon..
