Intense laser produced plasmas are a bright source of high energy electrons, ions and x-rays. Our recent experiments show that they can also be converted to a source of high energy neutral atoms under suitable conditions. My current research is in understanding the ionisation and recombinations that occur in strongly ionized plasmas. We are also working on generation of brighter x-ray sources with intense laser light.
