In my role as a Policy and Program Officer at the ACT Government's Office for Disability, I was responsible for a range of key initiatives and projects:• Contributed to policy development, program management, and event coordination to promote inclusion of people with disability in our community.• Led a restructure of the ACT Chief Minister's Inclusion Awards, improving its operationalisation and delivery.• Fostered partnerships with diverse stakeholders to expand opportunities for inclusion, and coordinated various community engagement activities with businesses, communities, and government entities. • Prepared Ministerial briefs and correspondence, and provided secretariat support to the ACT Disability Reference Group and Inclusion Council.• Represented the ACT Office for Disability at various stakeholder forums.

Worked in the Client Services team to sustain an existing culture of positive behaviour support and the delivery of high-quality services by: • Undertaking comprehensive individual client assessment to inform the development and implementation of evidence-based positive behaviour support plans;• Coaching, supporting and training direct support teams including team leaders and managers to ensure preventative approaches to behaviour support are embedded in client-centred practice;• Maintaining strong relationships with clients, their families, representatives and relevant stakeholders; • Assessing and reporting on the use of restrictive practices and developing strategies to reduce or eliminate these practices;• Ensuring all Hartley Lifecare’s reporting and compliance requirements in relation to restrictive practice are completed to a high standard and quality checked. • Establishing, monitoring and maintaining the relationship with the ACT Senior Practitioner and NDIS Behaviour Support team • Representing Hartley at ACT Office of Senior Practitioner Central Panels, meetings, and working groups; • Providing advice and practical assistance to Managers and teams on the application and implementation of legislation, standards and evidence informed practice • Demonstrating a commitment to ongoing professional development including behaviour skills supervision in accordance with the Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework.
