Launched on September 13th, 2017, the 80th anniversary of the founding of Polaroid, Polaroid Originals makes instant film for Polaroid cameras, develops and sells new cameras and refurbishes vintage cameras for the use of our instant film. The company is headquartered in Amsterdam with offices in the US, Taiwan and China and manufacturing sites in The Netherlands and Germany.As COO I am responsible for all operational activities within Polaroid Originals, including film and camera manufacturing, Film R&D, Supply Chain Management, Quality and ICT. Key aspect is the manufacturing of the instant film, one of the most complex chemical products known to man. Manufacturing of the photographic material takes place in our factory in Germany and the assembly of the cassettes in the original Polaroid factory in Enschede. Key achievements to date include the doubling of production output through LEAN initiatives, de-risking of the chemical supply chain through a dual sourcing strategy and a significant improvement in film quality through improved formulation. Projects like 6 Sigma are running to further improve the stability of manufacturing processes. Currently I am focusing on the optimisation of the global product distribution setup in support of the commercial expansion into Asia, US and Europe.

Mubadala is the development company of the Abu Dhabi government aiming to diversify the Abu Dhabi economy away from oil and gas. Mubadala recently formed Strata PJSC, a company that focuses on design and build of composite aerostructures for all major OEMs. Strata is currently operating a 22.000 sqm state of the art composite plant in the city of Al Ain. After breaking ground in September 2009, the facility was qualified in June 2010 and the first shipset of Flap Track Fairings was delivered to Airbus in October 2010.
