Over 20 years experience within Trading Standards covering all aspects of the work. I have worked in a range of authority types from Large County Councils, City Councils and mixed urban and rural settings. Over those years I have developed specialist skills for example interpreting legislation, PACE procedures and Digital Evidence. EnCE qualifies forensic investigator with over 8 years experience covering counterfeit, Fraud, illicit tobacco, rogue traders, illegal money lending and pornography cases. Strong partnership approach to work, with both building new partnerships and ensuring current partnerships are maintain. Through these partnerships I believe that the ability to share meaningful intelligence is key to both the future of Trading Standards and other agencies, and that it should not be limited to just the job remit. In the 20 years in the role I have worked with and mentored 18 officers through their professional qualifications and enjoyed every minute of it. I fully believe it is important to pass on the knowledge you have to the new officers coming through. I have been involved with governance of both small and large projects including being Chair of the WHoTS governance and tasking group for 2 years.During the Covid pandemic I was the lead for compliance, made sure we had a proactive approach to supporting our all businesses from the licensed sector all the way to our farmers with advice and guidance, signposting them to support and funding.Recently I have taken on the role of Chair of the Safety Advisory Group for Conwy, a role that I very much enjoy and continue to believe that working in partnership with as many businesses and partners is the most important part of my role.
