About Mac Mcintosh
Students are pivotal to their institutions and their communities. I strive to lead and implement change with students, their profound impact, and their importance to the institution in mind. My experience has allowed me to develop an ability to lead staff of all experiences and backgrounds, motivate large teams, manage/evaluate large scale programming, operations and budgets, manage staff performance and training, and be pragmatic with major decisions. I am constantly keeping the philosophies of the organization at the core of every decision while ensuring the decision is the smart and responsible path forward. With experience in student facing casework, student facilities management, leading student programming, and in academic support, my experience is widespread and allows me to understand the core operations of post-secondary institutions. The bulk of my work has been with students and this has encouraged me to pursue a life in which I get to work towards empowering young people. Whether this be through direct work, departmental management, assessment, or through policy development.I also strongly believe in being involved in one's community. I have worked closely with a variety of organizations on governance, advocacy, and event related initiatives. These experiences have allowed me to interact with government and policy in a community focused fashion while also further developing my ability to lead and communicate with a diverse set of stakeholders.On a more personal note, I love a long run, a nice cup of coffee, and a nordic ski.
