As an AV rated trial and appellate lawyer, Mac Phillips devotes his practice to the prosecution and defense of a wide variety of civil actions involving business and personal disputes in Florida’s state and federal courts. Since 2000, he has successfully represented plaintiffs, defendants, and non-parties in litigation involving first party insurance claims, breach of contract, business torts, fraud, antitrust and catastrophic personal injuries. Mac has extensive experience managing and coordinating the mass litigation of thousands of insurance claims on an individual and class wide basis. He has served as amicus counsel on insurance issues of statewide significance and has appeared in various District Courts of Appeal and the Florida Supreme Court on behalf of consumer groups. Mac has also testified on numerous occasions before the Florida Senate and House of Representatives about the impact of proposed health care and insurance legislation on medical providers and their patients.Mac is often engaged as an expert witness on the computation and valuation of reasonable attorneys’ fees and litigation costs, and has presented on that topic at the Florida College of Advanced Judicial Studies. He also served on the faculty of the Annual Education Program of the Conference of County Court Judges where he presented on first-party insurance litigation. Mac was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2000 after graduating from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where he received the President's Award for Outstanding Contributions to the University of Florida. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida in 1995, where he was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.Mac lives in Boca Raton with his family. He has been a member of the Anti Defamation League for over a decade and is a graduate of the ADL's Glass Leadership Institute.
