With over 16 years of experience in research, advocacy, and support for parents of fussy/spirited/alert children (she calls them "livewires"), Macall is a pediatric sleep consultant, author, researcher, and speaker who specializes in sleep and temperament. She has a master's degree in Applied Psychology from Antioch University Seattle, a B.S. in Human Biology from Stanford University. She is a certified "gentle" sleep coach using alternatives to extinction.Macall is the owner/admin of The Fussy Baby Site and Spirited Child Support Facebook groups (100K+ members). She is currently a pediatric sleep consultant at Maven Clinic, an online women's health portal, where she has worked with thousands of parents to provide feedback and guidance on sleep and other parenting issues.
