From March 2020 onwards my position involved navigating the constantly changing requirements of the COVID-19 pandemic. I had a key role in initiating and managing operations when the business pivoted to delivering food boxes to family homes and a new product line of fresh grocery boxes to customers. In October 2020 I was also involved in the successful tender for a new government school lunch contract worth $20 million servicing 48 schools. To comply with the contract I was responsible for scaling up operations including setting up two new production sites, tendering and fitting out of a delivery fleet, establishing new processes to produce 17,500 lunches and recruiting and onboarding a team of 100 staff. In August 2021, during the COVID-19 lockdown, EML secured a Ministry of Social Development contract worth $3 million and I led the scale-up to deliver food parcels to families in need.
