About Mcclellan Dameron

I am an engineer with skills in problem solving, product testing and process improvement. My past employment experiences have given me a unique insight to lean manufacturing, six sigma methodologies and quality systems. I enjoy solving problems, working with people and suppliers to make products and processes robust. I love to learn and make it a life long pursuit.Some past achievements:During an FDA audit, September 19-23, I helped host the auditors and was the liaison between the auditors and the company. I led QMS audits in Utah and Costa Rica. I revised the supplier approval process and implemented a supplier scorecard. I reduced the quantity of NCMR by 60% and the length of time it takes to close by 30%.Through analyzing data I increased a warranty length from 16 months to 24 months through Reliability testing methods, field failure analysis studies and statistical studies. I presented this at the ASQ WCOQ in 2015. This was difficult as it involved learning new techniques, but I enjoy learning and look forward to learning more.A cost savings of over $5.5M was realized at the end of a one and a half year long effort, by redesigning machines and equipment, studying and improving quality checks, optimizing process inputs and changing process flow. It was hard to keep the morale of the team up through the entire 1.5 years, but the end result was worth it.I have led teams that have increased production throughput by 30% through lean manufacturing methods, improving process flow and standardization. This was during my studies of a production system similar to Toyota's and I grew allot during this time.A Six Sigma project that I led reduced production scrap by 83% through GRR, statistical studies, and by adding and modifying electro/mechanical equipment. Even though I had the data it was difficult to convince the established "we've always done it that way" mentality. Through persistent efforts was saw maximum improvement and challenged the paradigm.
