- transport patients from the ultrasound department to the emergency department- turn over rooms for the next patient by discarding dirty linen, disinfecting the bed and machine, getting out new linen, moving the bed if the next patient is inpatient, and setting up the needed transducers for the next exam- stocking the inpatient and outpatient rooms with supplies and linen and back stocking the clean utility closets- checking for and throwing out expired supplies- ending exams and putting inpatients in for transport on EPIC- validating images through the PACS system- standing in as a medical chaperone during sensitive exams- holding/consoling patients for the ultrasound techs- answering the phone or Vocera and taking messages when techs are unavailable- running the Trophon High Level Disinfectant Machine when needed

This clinical rotation is in Riverside's Peripheral Vascular Lab which is a combination of inpatient and outpatient examinations whether it be in the lab or portable. I work on GE LOGIQ E10 Ultrasound Machines and a VascuLab Ankle/Brachial (ABI) Machine. I observe and perform numerous different vascular exams including lower and upper extremity deep venous thrombosis (DVT) studies, carotid duplex, ABIs, pseudoaneurysms, etc.

This was my first outpatient vascular clinical site. I worked on both Siemens Sequoia and Philips IU22 Ultrasound Machines as well as a Parks Flow Lab Ankle/Brachial (ABI) Machine. I performed numerous different vascular exams including lower and upper extremity deep venous thrombosis (DVT) studies with the lower being with or without reflux, renal duplex, aortic duplex, carotid duplex, ABIs, segmental pressures, etc. I also was able to observe two radiofrequency ablation (RFA) procedures that were guided by ultrasound while being at this site.

This was a general outpatient clinical rotation where I worked on a Philips EPIQ Ultrasound Machine to perform different general ultrasound exams like RUQ, pelvic transabdominal/transvaginal, thyroid, scrotal, spleen, abdominal aorta, and renal/bladder. I also worked on taking patient history, using EPIC, and typing out reports.

This was a Maternal Fetal Medicine rotation at Mount Carmel St. Ann’s Hospital where I worked on a GE Voluson E10 Ultrasound Machine. I observed and performed 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimester exams as well as biophysical profiles, cervical lengths, and growth exams. At this site, I gained a lot of scanning independence and confidence while working on interacting one on one with patients and presenting cases to the physicians.

This was my first OB/GYN clinical rotation. At this site, I used a Samsung WS80A Women's Health Ultrasound Machine to post scan 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimester exams for singleton and multiples pregnancies. I also was able to observe both amniocentesis and chorionic villi sampling procedures that were guided by ultrasound.
