I am currently a student at Penn State Altoona working towards my Bachelor of Science in Nursing. My expected graduation date is May of 2022. Currently, I am working at UPMC Altoona Hospital as a Patient Care Technician where I have gained a variety of fundamental nursing skills. In addition, over the summer of 2021, I completed an Internship at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital where I continued to expand my nursing knowledge and critical thinking. I am now searching for job opportunities that I can begin shortly after graduation. My health care experience working as a Patient Care Technician and participating in an internship provided me with valuable experiences, making me confident that I would be an adequate team member to any team. I provide high-quality patient care by keeping patients' environments safe at all times and caring for their basic human needs like bathing, oral hygiene, and bed changes. I work well with a team and can adequately communicate important patient information to doctors, physicians, physical therapists, and all other health care workers to provide the patient with the best care possible. I have the ability to advocate for my patient and team members professionally without engaging in strong disagreements. In addition, my nonverbal communication skills are well built and I often take time to use techniques, like holding their hand, to comfort my patients. In difficult situations, I maintain my professional manner by keeping my mental and emotional tolerance in balance to properly support my patient.
