I am a 2019 Graduate of the AGACNP program with 8 years of Cardiac ICU (CICU) nursing experience. I pose expert assessment, analytical, and critical thinking skills that allows me to notice subtle changes in a patient's condition. As an AGACNP-BC, I will use those skills, along with newly gained knowledge, to accurately assess, diagnose, and treat patients. Prior to becoming a registered nurse, I achieved my first degree from Texas A&M University with a Bachelors of Science in Health. I graduated a semester early, and immediately attended the University of Texas Medical Branch, where I participated in the accelerated BACC-2 program and gained my Bachelors of Science in Nursing degree within eleven months. After graduation, I received a job offer with Houston Methodist Hospital, in which I have worked for the past eight years in the CICU. We have expanded from an 18 bed unit to a 30 bed unit, and I have expanded my role from a staff nurse to charge nurse and preceptor within the unit. In 2016, I decided to continue my education journey, by attending Texas Woman's University in the Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program. I continued working full time in the CICU and graduated in May 2019.
