My passion for higher education stems from my journey during undergrad as a Division I athlete and research assistant in marketing and graduate school as an intern at Bryant University working with First-Generation college students and academically coaching students on academic probation and warning. My passion for higher education continues through my work with my student employees and being able to be a small part of their lives and watch them learn and grow over semesters into amazing leaders and individuals.I enjoy interacting with and mentoring students from diverse backgrounds and experiences, and creating opportunities for access, growth, and marketability for their future career goals. I have worked with wonderful individuals throughout my career journey so far and have learned from their leadership, care, and support the kind of leader and supervisor I aim to be for my employees.In my previous role as Assistant Director of Learning Strategies and Instruction (LSI) at the University Center for Academic Excellence (UCAE) at UNC Charlotte, I designed and facilitated academic skills workshops and presentations, guided students through holistic support sessions, and analyzed utilization and engagement data for all LSI programs. I also coordinated outreach initiatives to promote UCAE programs in orientations, open houses, admissions, and other events, and liaised between the center and campus partners to coordinate UCAE academic presentations. I also developed individualized action plans for 160 students.In addition, I served as the Director of the 49er Connect program where I transformed and established program foundations, campus recognition, and accreditation by CRLA standards. As a result, I increased student enrollment and engagement in the program by 184%. As the Equity Fellow Program Supervisor at Charlotte, I managed a $20,000 budget, supervised six graduate student peer leaders, and planned and coordinated 14 co-curricular and social events.I hold an M.Ed. in Higher Education from Providence College, where I also earned a B.A. in Psychology and Business Studies. In Fall 2024 I began pursing an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and Management with a concentration in Mind, Brain, and Learning and a certificate in College Teaching.
