Managing and maintaining a 600 acre former logging facility and commercial fishery is not for everyone. One Million Lights (OML) is a non profit org based in San Francisco geared to eliminating kerosene use in developing regions worldwide, replacing kerosene lamps with solar powered lights helps children keep reading, helps families stay healthy without the added health impacts of burning kerosene in the home, and additionally mitigating millions of pounds of carbon dioxide from being expunged into the atmosphere as a result of the kerosene burning. There are a million reasons why this organization is truly a game changer for sustainable development, so my job is to get the word out about OML and give this organization the attention it deserves on a national and worldwide level.

The second program works with high school students in New Zealand to help them achieve their dreams through influence from mentors in their like fields of interest. I worked at the Emeryville CA office to help with both programs.

The Nexus Global Youth Summit on Social Entrepreneurship and Innovative Philanthropy is a conference which took place in late July 2011 in New York City which brought together 500 of the world's youngest philanthropists and entrepreneurs to constructively tackle some of our generation's toughest international issues. My duties as Production Coordinator involved recruiting and organizing 20 volunteers, photographers and videographers for the conference's website, documentation and printed materials.

Mayors Against Illegal Guns was initiated to fix gun checks in the United States. Today, in order to obtain a gun, there are two steps in the process - passing a criminal felony background check, as well as a mental stability check. These are not difficult to adhere to, and yet every year much gun violence and many deaths occur as a result of failure to take these two background steps. My duties while working with Mayors Against Illegal Guns were to facilitate in coordinating an event on Capitol Hill with youth activists against illegal guns. I additionally helped with an event at Virginia Tech which aired a documentary film about the shooting on campus in 2007 which was created to spurn interest and engagement in our campaign to Fix Gun Checks.

The Climate Reality Project, formerly known as The Alliance for Climate Protection, was started by Al Gore in 2006 to bring about effective and comprehensive climate legislation in US Congress through innovative strategies using a combination of grassroots and online approaches to political organizing.As Deputy Youth Director I ran a national campaign on college campuses to increase youth involvement and education on climate policy initiatives on the local, state and federal levels. While at the Alliance for Climate Protection I was also video production team assistant and graphic designer for numerous materials including postcards and informational fliers on our youth surge program. My duties included daily correspondence with student representatives on numerous college campuses, designing, ordering and coordinating distribution for campaign supplies and mailings, organizing activists in downtown Washington for numerous measures about comprehensive climate policy on capitol hill, and enjoyed the network of people I had the pleasure learning so much from for the duration of this job.

As a marketing representative for MDC, my duties were to select appropriate markets based on targeted demographics. I would approach a lifestyle market based on an upcoming album or concert tour coming through the DC area, post photos and posters of the singer or group to increase awareness of the upcoming album or concert, and provide giveaways for fans and store owners. It was a wonderful experience which helped hone my skills in marketing, sales as well as clear and effective communication.

As an assistant to the Associate Dean of Program Development, my contracted position duties were writing and directing a short film on the environmental sustainability aspects of the school's new LEED certified gold SIS building. I was also a photographer for events for SIS and a teaching assistant to the school's 2010 Practice of Environmentalism course documenting environmentalism aspects in the Galapagos Islands.

Eco Sense drastically improved American University's carbon footprint, bringing our emissions down by 30% in a relatively short 4 year span. As a club on campus, the number of members who were truly dedicated to the cause of environmental sustainability was one of the most consistently populated. We provided teach-ins for environmental education, debates on highly contested climate issues, sustainable rock concerts with energy made with bicycle generators, and hosted speakers and panels regarding environmental justice issues. Eco Sense provides a home to students who want to continue to make American University a better and more environmentally efficient place. Additionally, the club has grown to show the way to many other schools in the United States, spreading the message of the Clean Energy Revolving Fund to other campuses.

Interned for CABS top researchers, intern responsibilities included administrative MS Office tasks, researching and writing a piece on Climate Change mitigation and adaptation strategies for upland tropical biome regions around the world.

Facilitated with the Katzen Arts Center's events and performances, monitored various computer and technology labs in the state of the art building.

Residence Hall president organizes student activities and works to improve campus life. My personal goal while president at the university's largest residence hall was to improve the overall environmental impact made by the building through environmentally educational interactive programs.

Intern responsibilities include organizing and leading US Capitol tours and tours of other US capitol buildings, organizing and corresponding with constituent mail, annotating and documenting congressional meetings, among other basic administrative tasks.
