Tim Mackey is the head of software supply chain risk strategy within the Synopsys Software Integrity Group. His responsibilities include risk management strategy definition for software producers and operators, and as part of that effort he directly engages with standards bodies and regulatory working groups including those within NIST and CISA. Tim is a technologist at heart and often delivers cybersecurity talks globally at industry leading events such as RSA, Black Hat, Gartner Risk Summit, Open Source Summit, and Red Hat Summit. Tim Mackey is a principal security strategist with the Synopsys Cybersecurity Research Center (CyRC). Within this role, he engages with various technical and business communities to understand how application security is evolving with ever-expanding attack surfaces and increasingly sophisticated threats. He specializes in container security, virtualization, cloud technologies, distributed systems engineering, mission critical engineering, performance monitoring, and large-scale data center operations. Tim takes the lessons learned from these activities and delivers talks globally at conferences such as RSA, OSCON, Open Source Summit, KubeCon, Interop, CA World, Container World, DevSecCon, DevOps Days, DockerCon and the IoT Summit. He is also an O'Reilly Media published author.

IT Sector co-chair for the CISA ICT SCRM Task Force working group on software assurance. Coordinated development of the Software Acquisition Guide for Government Enterprise Consumers: Software Assurance in the Cyber-Supply Chain Risk Management (C-SCRM) Lifecycle. Core team members included repesentatives from industry and multiple government partners.

I was asked once what the term "evangelist" meant in my title, and after thinking for a bit came to the conclusion that the official title of "Product Marketing Manager XenServer Data Center and Cloud" must've been too long, or that my skill set really didn't match anything else. As an evangelist, you'll find me straddling the roles of technical marketing, product marketing, product management, consultant, engineer and of course the always fun "booth babe". I bring my unique experience to customer conversations and enable them to be successful in their XenServer deployments, whether that customer be an end user or partner.

During this period I was the development lead and driving force behind EdgeSight for NetScaler. EdgeSight for NetScaler provides real-time visability into the experience web users have when using a web site; from their perspective. Development spanned two product groups within Citrix, and utilizes the full .Net/SQL development stack.The EdgeSight technology is really quite interesting when you consider that it was designed to scale from monitoring moderate volume internal corporate web sites all the way to the most trafficed public web property. The net is that this provides unprecedented data on the actual user expreience, all without impacting that user experience.
