Continued to provide onsite support for the Army Core of Engineers at the Lookout Point Dam outside of Lowell, OR. Received a promotion to SA when the contract changed over from Lockheed to Vectrus. New duties include adding/removing and changing user accounts and groups. Upgraded and installed Windows 2008 and 2012 servers. Participating in upgrading/replacing all our 2008 Servers and Windows 7 computers with 2012R2 and Windows 10. Deployed to Saint Thomas in November of 2017 to provide emergency computer support to our emergency teams supporting Hurricane Irma and Maria relief efforts. Monitored computers and servers for security compliance. Participated in our Change Management board, assisted with writing SOPs and providing technical guidance.

Traveled from Coos Bay to the Detroit Dam in support of my area of operations providing excellent customer support to fix computer, network and server issues. Maintained and created documentation, including using Remedy to record all work activities. Imaged and deployed Dell desktops and laptops. Supported HP, Lexmark and Ricoh printers and copiers. Installed Cisco routers and switches, APC UPSes and Dell servers. Assisted with inventory and IA compliance. Worked with my ACE IT teammates to maintain a over 98 percent customer satisfaction rating.

Responsible for maintaining all the workstations and computers for the 366th Comptroller’s squadron at Mountain Home AFB in Idaho as a contractor. Coordinated with various Air Force resources to facilitate support for network and VOIP systems. Scanned paperwork on the Kofax document management system. Fixed issues with dozens of Air Force financial applications…MilPay, DFAS, Workflow, Citrix and others. Troubleshot issues with Java and VisualBasic.

Worked in Afghanistan deploying WISP systems to remote combat outposts and forward operating bases. Responsibilities included obtaining and maintaining a government security clearance, carrying heavy equipment long distances, living in less than idea situations, programming Cisco and Mikrotik routers, wireless access points, microwave links, RADIUS servers, VOIP and installing network cabling and fiber optics, installing and aiming 1.8 to 2.4m satellite dishes, and solving problems without readily available parts, materials, equipment or tools. Particularly proud of the 30 foot freestanding microwave tower I built with salvaged lumber and parachute cord to solve issues with line of site between access points. Traveled to over 35 sites in Afghanistan both on and off NATO, ISAF and US military installations. Used CRM systems like vTiger to document and record all activity and work to maintain good communication and documentation. Returned home through Africa performing similar duties in Niger, Djibouti and Ethiopia.In September of 2012 I was assigned to work at Aegis Defense Systems’ facility supporting the security detail for the U.S. Embassy in Kabul. Managed, installed and deployed Windows 2003 and 2008 servers, Cisco and OmniSwitches, WatchGuard firewall and VSAT systems. Maintained and help install fiber optic and CAT-5e/6 throughout the buildings on the campus. Installed a managed UBNT wireless system to replace a ragtag collection of access points. Managed and expanded the SQL based biometrics system and GEMS system (RFID tags) to provide the Department of State a checks and balances system for Aegis’ invoices and accountability for the staff. Supported the welfare network to provide internet access to over 800 rooms and personnel. Repaired computers, printers, tablets and cell phones. Wrote detailed reports, documentation and SOPs. Attended meetings with senior Department of State staff to coordinate and communicate the status of our project.
