Adaptable ○ Passionate ○ Team Oriented ○ Accountable ○ Goal Oriented ○ Driven I am a soon to be graduate from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management with a concentration in Parks and Natural Resources and a Minor in Environmental Science. I have five summers of past experience working with Children ages 3-16 in various camp settings. I spent four summers of this experience was at Keyauwee Program Center, an overnight Girl Scout summer camp, where I served in various roles, progressing from Unit Assistant to Unit Counselor to Unit Leader. These three positions gave me an opportunity to facilitate activities and lead groups from the time the children woke up to the time they went to bed. My final summer at Keyauwee Program Center I served as an Adventure Specialist, running the daily operations and making sure that safety and confidence building were the top priorities at the camps multi-faced artificial climbing structure and Alpine Tower. My fifth summer was with Jaycee Community Center which is a part of the City of Raleigh Park, Recreation, and Cultural Resources department. At Jaycee I was the director of the brand new Camp Compass program where I developed all of the programming for the camp and managed our staff of counselors. Currently, I work for the City of Raleigh Parks, Recreation, and Cultural departments Volunteer Services Program. I help manage the 14,000 volunteers that come through the department annually. My responsibilities include maintaining the Microsoft Access database where we track the contributions made by our volunteers to the city, maintaining the Adopt-A-Park and Adopt-A-Trail databases, creating marketing materials with Microsoft Publisher, and leading volunteer groups through various projects, including clean-ups, landscaping, and invasive specials removal.
