During my yearlong graduate fellowship, I assisted the Program Officers of the Poverty, Justice, and Education initiatives by synthesizing interim and final reports from grantees in order to analyze how expected outcomes of the grant were met. Compared proposal budgets with final expenditure reports to track use of funds for grants ranging from $20,000 to $2.2 million. Coordinated and attended funder collaborative meetings and site visits with community-based organizations. Wrote backup memos to support Director Discretionary grants of $20,000.

Following a year as Volunteer Coordinator nurturing local community partnerships and training volunteers, I reported directly to the Executive Director as Special Projects Coordinator to conduct capacity building projects in response to rapid organizational growth. Supported team in launching the Recovery Café Network--an expansion and replication of an innovative recovery community model. I also participated in a number of advocacy related efforts on behalf of Recovery Cafe to expand recovery support in Washington State. Coordinated the third statewide summit for the Washington Recovery Alliance of 50 members and designed website for the alliance. Wrote the Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws for the Washington Recovery Alliance’s Application for Recognition of Exemption Under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (1023 Form). Assisted Behavioral Health Advocacy team in walking House Bill 1713, or 'Ricky's Law', successfully through legislative process.
