Legal Services Coordinator
Current- Manage personal caseload and critical case deadlines for 225+ legal asylum cases for refugees seeking U.S. protection from persecution- Interview mostly non-English speaking potential clients using trauma-informed language to ascertain details about the persecution they faced in their home countries- Prepare narrative and detailed write-ups of potential clients' cases for final determination on client representation- Research and analyze foreign country conditions to draft legal applications for existing clients- Support development, communication, and advocacy teams by creating content and organizing events- Analyze and refine internal procedures to improve efficiency and program effectiveness- Maintain case database including tracking relevant data, generating reports, and analyzing data- Facilitate communication between clients, federal government agencies, in-house attorneys, volunteer attorneys at external law firms, and interpreters- Hire, train, mentor, and supervise interns year-round
