The Sustainability Fellowship program at the University of New Hampshire aims to pair students with environmental and sustainability-related fellowships throughout New England. As a Fellow for The Nature Conservancy, I utilized Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to update and map conservation and public lands spatial data throughout New Hampshire. This database of public lands is crucial in helping understand how public lands in New Hampshire have changed over time, how they are currently being used, and will help several different sectors manage these lands in the future, including government agencies, nonprofits, business, and the transportation sector, particularly in regards to climate adaptation and resiliency.

- Utilized ArcGIS Pro 2.7 to geocode physician's locations based on rural Michigan census tracts and rural-urban commuting area (RUCA) codes to help locate rural physicians and target these locations for cancer-prevention screening surveys - Independently created 10 static maps, one interactive map using ArcGIS Online, and one web app, to be used for journal publication and grant funding- Geocoded 9,000 locations; analyzed raw data; edited and created attributes and shapefile layers - Collaborated with Michigan Medicine researchers and Michigan Library staff to ensure data quality and accuracy

- Canvass door-to-door to increase voter turnout and outreach in Michigan through phone and text-banking, letter writing, and Commit-to-Vote cards (went remote in August due to COVID-19)- Analyze voting patterns across the state of Michigan to increase voter turnout, provide voters with registration, polling locations, and candidate information. - Contributed to 5% overall increase in voter turnout for Washtenaw County

Campus Culture and Communications Team, President's Commission on Carbon Neutrality- Evaluate and devise behavioral incentives for students and university organizations to implement carbon neutrality. - Benchmarked key sustainability initiatives at peer insitutions- Co-wrote 15-page report of sustainability recommendations with 8 team members to present to Board of Regents and University President- Co-wrote 20-page graphic short story showcasing a day-in-the-life of a student at a carbon neutral university - Organized and facilitated 3 townhall meetings for student and community stakeholders on carbon neutrality goals and recommendations- Conducted 5 out of 30 total student and staff stakeholder interviews- University Regents approved 3 out of 4 priority recommendations from report

- Assist with reporting on PFAS sites in the Hazardous Waste Section- Participate in regional team PFAS meetings, attend available trainings on PFAS and other environmental remediation issues- Assist with hazardous waste facility projects including visiting hazardous waste sites, collecting PFAS samples, reviewing department reports, and updating section databases on remediation efforts.

- Study the effects of PFAS on the macroinvertebrate Daphnia magna using the "in situ" Toxicity Identification Evaluation (iTIE) system to determine copper toxicity in water and sediment samples and its acute and chronic effects on Daphnia magna, which are largely important to aquatic system food chains. - Use the iTIE system to identify levels of toxicity and establish more effective methods of risk-assessment management in regard to sediment contamination.- Manage cultures of D. magna and H. azteca for experimental use.
