I graduated in May of 2024 from Missouri State University with my Bachelor of Social Work. I am attending graduate school and will graduate with my MSW in May 2025. I attended the University of Missouri-Columbia for two years, from 2020-2022. I took introduction courses to Social Work and completed my general credits at Mizzou. I then transferred to Missouri State in August of 2022 and graduate with my social work degree in May 2024.I have worked with children ever since I was in High School. I have been a counselor at religious bible camps and I have also tutored young children at elementary schools. I have also nannied for a family in the summer of 2021 and this included a newborn, along with 7-year-old twins! I have recently become a Peer Group Leader in August of 2022. I was selected from a pool of BSW student applicants to serve as a leader for a peer group of students in the social work undergraduate cohort. I have facilitated regular communication with peer groups through group text to offer information and support about courses, managing stress, campus involvement, diversity and inclusion, and other relevant content. I also have planned face-to-face events for my peer group to meet together to build relationships in the cohort that included leading a discussion of a planned topic. This position has allowed me to blossom in my leadership skills and allowed me to incorporate my most important value, and that is inclusivity!I was recently an employee at Arc of the Ozarks for two years and they are a leading organization that provides a comprehensive range of services to support individuals with disabilities and their families. I have been a camp counselor at the Arc of the Ozarks during the Summer of 2023 & 2024 and this involved working one-on-one with clients, helping them participate in daily tasks. I provide safe and enjoyable recreation experiences for a small group of children with disabilities. I had been leading classes for adults with developmental disabilities. This includes cooking classes, craft classes, and educational classes. I also was recently an intern at Greene County Children's Division. The Children's Division in Greene County, Springfield works in partnership with families, communities, the courts, and other governmental entities to ensure the safety, permanency, and well-being of Missouri children. As an intern, I assisted with documentation, referrals, supervising visits between parents and children, and any other needs around the office.
