- drove a tractor weekly to maintain areas around our research field through mowing and brush hogging- maintained 5 different maize populations that required self, sib, and cross-pollination

- Learned and implemented various research pipelines for accurate data collection - Collaborated consistently with all members of the lab to organize and finish weekly experiments using a high-throughput phenotyping robot - Phenotyped various maize primary roots using Image J to measure the length of root structures - Initiated and led a weekly literature review group as well as a website-building session as part of a professional development series- Obtained a drone license in order to operate a small unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) independently and collect data points for the Genomes to Fields Initiative

- Created a scripts in R and Python to extract the vegetative indices, leaf area index, and height of the plants from orthomosaics built using Agisoft and Pix4D, photogrammetry software. - Prepared the findings of my research in order to present at a conference poster sessions, along with preparing a 15 minute oral presentation in November 2023- Currently writing a manuscript detailing the research process and the overall findings from the UAV data
